THE LAST SHOW AT CBGBs
"Blondie singer Deborah Harry performed at the legendary CBGBs club in New York last night (October 14) for one of the venue's final shows before its doors are closed for good. The singer played a series of hits from her back catalogue for an acoustic set alongside a cover of The Ramones track 'I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend', reports Reuters.
"This is a little weird, you know, but anything for old CB's," she told the crowd. "What are we going to do now? Where are we going to go?" she asked before launching into 'Tide Is High'.
After the gig, the crowd took photos of the facade bearing the club's name.
The club, which opened its doors in 1973, proved a launching pad for the singer and the likes of The Ramones and Talking Heads during New York's punk and new wave scene of the late 70s."
