PRETTY BABY
Stars live in the evening but the very young need the sun pretty baby you look so heavenly a neo nebula from under the sun I was forming some say I had my chance the boys were falling like an avalanche
Ya ya baby La Dolce Vita is a magic dance no one was listening pretty baby petite ingenue teenage starlet I fell in love with you
You, you with the comb you look ok in every way ah I should have known you'd look at me and look away
Pretty baby you look so heavenly a neo nebula from under the sun eyes that tell me incense and peppermints your looks are larger than life long live innocence |
COMMENTS
quoted from the book 'Deborah Harry: Platinum Blonde - A Portrait By Cathay Che' - 1999
question: How about 'Pretty Baby?'
answer: That one was about little Brookie [child model turned actress Brooke Shields], and maybe a little bit about myself at the time. We went to see that movie, Pretty Baby, and Brooke was so outstanding and touching in it. Then we did a photo shoot together with Michael Mackenzie, and she turned out to be such a real person and so sweet. So we wanted to write a song about her. |
